The first thing you see in this final trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is Captain America's shield.
That image, and the opening lines from Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), hint at some of the emotional journey the season ahead has in store. For whatever threats they may be facing, it seems that the real heartbeat for this new Disney+ series will be a symbolic baton-passing as Sam and Bucky take up the mantle of their friend and former Avenger.
