Google's iOS apps have been sending ominous messages to users recently, telling them they're out of date and that it's risky to continue using them.
These messages are the result of a bug, which has already been fixed, Google told The Verge on Wednesday.
"This app is out of date. You should update this app. The version you're using doesn't include the latest security features to keep you protected. Only continue if you understand the risks," said a notice on some Google apps on iOS, including Gmail, Google Maps and Google Photos.
The apps worked normally after clicking the "Continue" button, but the notice certainly rattled some users — and the apps weren't technically out of date, as newer versions simply weren't available. Read more...
