Amazon on Monday unveiled new fitness features for its Alexa-powered Echo Buds. You can say "Alexa, start my workout" when you have your earbuds on, and Alexa will track information including calories burned, workout distance, step count, average pace and overall time. The features are available for customers in the US and UK.
To enable tracking, open the Alexa app, tap More, and then Settings, Account Settings, Workouts and Create Workout profile.
When you finish your workout, say, "End my workout." You can then also say things like: "Alexa, start my run;" "Alexa, pause my walk;" and "Alexa, how far have I run?" If you ask, "Alexa, how was my workout?" once you're done, you'll see stats from your previous workouts.
The update will roll out to users over the next few days.
